Hi Todd, I am running PLEX 4.124.1 on a Mac Studio with Sonoma 14.4.1 and none of my screens look like yours. I have tons of movies and Timelapse videos but PLEX wants another library - most of my old libraries are missing. Where to start??? Larr2000

Todd, would you know where to get a copy of server 5.6.3? It's now impossible to download it from the App store, even if you previously purchased it. And can't find it so far over internet. Would you have a copy to share by chance?

I have my main bootable backup on a 1Tb external, but can i also add a disc image for another machine (as a recovery for the 2nd machine) on the same 1Tb that i already have the bootable backup on? I'm a bit worried it will mess up my other backup or erase it.

So the disk image contains everything needed to restore from and is treated like it's own drive. I can use my backup drive to move other files around in other folders. Thanks.

Recently I finally took the plunge and upgraded our server to High Sierra, hoping that file sharing would be as solid as it had been on Sierra. It isn't. The SMB service intermittently crashes. Thanks Apple.

Hello, Super movie. I just downloaded from the macintoshrep all versions of server add-ons for systems. Unfortunately, they are no longer available on the official website. However, I have another question. I need to connect several Macs together to work together on a task. I would like to manage them from one computer on which I will run the task, and connected computers without a monitor mouse and keyboard could help in completing the task. There used to be a tool called xgrid but unfortunately it is no longer available. Do you know what can replace that now? P.S. The project is done for fun, so performance and economic aspects are in the background. Greetings from Poland Tom

i have several videos/movies and/or shows that are only partially available. out of 19 shows, only 9 are showing up. I have many where the metadata or thumbnails are not found or showing. Some movies are not even visible to plex. Does it have anything to do wit MKV vs MP4?

I never get the chevron in my top bar. I double-click PMS, and it asks if I want to move it to the Applications Folder. Then, nothing. Ever. No matter how many times or where or when or how or why I try to launch the app, it does nothing.

I’m just setting up a High Sierra server in mid 2023 on my 2014 MacMini. :-) Still a great all-in-one, set-and-forget-it (and no-subscription) server solution for yr home or small business. Great for DNS and VPN access to your network, managing network shares and NAS. If you combine it with an AirPort it’s just so nice way of managing things. Great thing is that I can use the Server’s nice GUI for DNS management with conjunction of an Nginx web-server running in Docker 🙂

My crappy ISP has port 25 blocked. They said that they only allow it if it’s routed through their servers. How exactly would one set this up?

Hi...Thank you for sharing this wonderful tutorial, that yet, years later is very useful I want to set up a mail server at home. Commercial hosting is getting a burden for us. So I'm studying from your tutorials from the beginning to see if this is possible for me. I know very little about this. So I set up an old but very good MacMini 2014 with High Sierra and Apple Server 5.6.1 The first obstacle I found through this tutorial seems to be the static IP address. We have Comcast and a tp-link AXE5400 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 6E Router. Opening the router config. I found that is set (automatically, I think) to Dynamic IP. To top it off, as I have read, Comcast seem to offer static IPs to Business tiers. Is there a workaround for this or am I complete lost ?(Business Plans are to expensive) Thank you!

I purchased a all in one HOOBS box about a year and a half ago, I was able to set it up and even got the TP Link plugin working. However, recently I was having some issues ... guessing the SD became corrupted. Using the GUI wouldn't allow me to control the devices anymore and it said there was an update for the HOOBS box, but clicking it to update, it just failed to update and returned to the dashboard saying there's an update. I contacted support and they gave me the link to re-flash the SD card. I picked up a new SD card to use. I was able to flash it and when setting it up, it only asked me to create a profile. After creating the profile, it took me to the dashboard which showed 0 bridges running, no QR code, etc. just asked for my name, username and password. When I click on "Bridges" it says "No bridges defined. Add bridge" I clicked on Add Bridge, and created a bridge and named it HOOBS ... this gives me the QR code to pair it with my iPhone/iPad. When I install the TP Link plugin, I have the option of Add/Create a bridge or install it on the HOOBS bridge. I've tried both ... however to uninstall it when it's installed on the HOOBS bridge, it also removes the HOOBS bridge and I have to re-create that bridge and scan the QR code on the iPhone/iPad. After installing, I went to the "Configuration" section, scrolled down and clicked on save (making no changes) ... however it doesn't discover my TP Link plugs/bulbs/switches. I've even tried a reboot of the HOOBS box through the hub settings, and still the "Accessories" shows "No Accessories Available" I think I remember adding something to the advanced configuration (code) when I set it up over a year ago, but I don't recall what it was. What could I be doing wrong? Should I be creating a bridge and naming it HOOBS? When installing the TP Link plugin should I allow it to create it's own bridge or should I install it on the HOOBS bridge? What can I do when it's not auto detecting my TP Link devices? I'm currently on Version 4.2.8, Node 16.19.0, Homebridge version 1.5.0. All the TP Link devices (Plugs: HS103 & HS105, Bulbs: KL125 & Switches: HS200 & HS220) are on the compatible list and on the same network as the HOOBS box.

I can access the website but it says that i'm accessing the server from an untrusted domain and i'm not sure how to configure the trusted_domains file as I don't know where it's stored. Todd, thank you for the video. I have an iPhone 13 Pro. I want to save just my voicemails as it has my deceased mother's voicemails on it. I would then like to delete all my voicemails on my phone. Any specific advice for this function of the imazing app?
